The Environmental and Land-based Studies Diploma Development Partnership recognises that it is important for centres to have a choice of accredited qualifications to offer their Diploma learners. Further too recent qualification development work in Principal Learning for first teach in September 2009, Edexcel will put forward their Environmental and Land-based suite of qualifications to Ofqual for accreditation in February 2009. Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and the Diploma Development Partnership (DDP) are working with Edexcel to support this timeframe for accrediting Environmental and Land-based qualifications at Foundation, Higher and Advanced levels.
The DDP would like to point out that it only supports the posting and issue of ‘final draft Environmental and Land-based Studies units’ onto web-sites. It does not agree with the policy of posting ‘working draft Environmental and Land-based Studies units’ onto web-sites before they are finalised, as such ‘working draft units’ are likely to change. Currently, Edexcel Environmental and Land-based Studies units are ‘working draft units’.
