Lantra highlighted the diverse range of careers available in the environmental and land-based sector at the National Career Guidance Show 2010, held this week (3 – 4 March) at the Emirates Stadium.
As students in full time education face making big decisions regarding their career choices and picking their options for the next academic term, Lantra Sector Skills Council is encouraging them to consider the exciting and dynamic opportunities in the environmental and land-based industries to help them choose their courses.
England’s next generation of employees and professionals have the opportunity to study the new Diploma in Environmental and Land-based Studies, as the qualification is launched in schools and colleges across England this month for the first time.
As the agonising wait for GCSE and A level exam results are nearly over, knowing what to do next can be a big decision; do you return to education and continue learning or get your first full-time job? Before making that final decision, Lantra Sector Skills Council is encouraging students to consider one of the exciting careers in the environmental and land-based sector and discover the many and varied opportunities available today.
Now is the time for businesses to sign-up and help shape the country’s future workforce. England’s next generation of employees and professionals will have the opportunity to choose the new Diploma in Environmental and Land-based Studies, which enables students to learn about industry from employers.
Some 51 partnerships of schools, colleges and employers across England have been given the green light by the government to teach the new Diploma in Environmental and Land-based Studies from 2009.
A leading academic has today said that students who complete a Diploma will have some significant advantages over students who come from a more traditional education background.
